Sounkyo Kankou Hotel, Kamikawa (Hokkaido)

I must say, this hotel is a real gem! The rooms are spacious, clean, and quite nice with a traditional touch, making them comfortable. The service was helpful and friendly, although slightly more expensive than other places. The location is perfect for exploring the nearby attractions, especially with the convenience of a free shuttle bus. However, the dining experience left much to be desired with limited food options. Overall, a great value for the money spent.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The rooms were spacious, clean, and equipped with a private bathtub and 'washlet' toilet, offering a lovely view of the forest. While the size of the room was slightly smaller than expected, it was still one of the best Japanese rooms I've experienced at this price range. The service was exceptional, with extremely kind and attentive staff who went out of their way to assist us during check-in, even with English-speaking support. The location was simply idyllic, situated along the picturesque Ishikari river, and conveniently close to the Kurodake rope way and Sounkyo mall. The dining experience, although not perfect, provided good enough options, especially if you prefer non-Western buffets.

Overall, the facilities were adequate, providing table tennis and air hockey, along with buffet dinner and breakfast options.
